The Youth:Cafe is part of a larger project called the Barn Youth Project (BYP). The BYP is an independent community organisation that aims to enable local young people to fulfil their potential. The Youth:Cafe has been open since February 2004 and works with a range of organisations, including Guildford Action, the Surrey NHS Primary Care Trust (PCT), Surrey Youth Development Service(SYDS), Guildford Borough Council (GBC), Surrey Police, and the Safer Guildford Partnership. BYP has no regular funding and relies on the generosity of grants and funding organisations and of course, volunteers to stay open.

At the Youth:Cafe we offer young people:

- A safe and friendly environment for young people to play, relax and socialise in.

- The opportunity to build genuine relationships with other young people, contributing to self-esteem and personal development.

- Access to support, opportunities and signposting to other services.

- As well as the Youth:Cafe we offer other activities such as football, other workshops and activity days (when funding is available).
