There are many ways that you can help with the BARN YOUTH PROJECT so if you have a particular skill or interest that you would like to contribute please let me know, below is just one example...
Youth
Cafe
We open two drop-in sessions a week for young people aged 8-16 years. During this time, young people have access to a tuck shop, pool tables, games consoles, arts/crafts and lots more, all of which we need volunteers to be involved in. Opportunities to get involved are:
We need at least 5 volunteers in order to open. So if you are not able to make a session, please contact me as soon as possible (a couple of days before) so that I can try to find alternative cover.
Volunteering will not only enable the BYP to grow and develop, it has many benefits for you also:
Looks great on your CV - working with young people (as well as other volunteers) shows that you can communicate effectively as part of a team. We are always delighted to offer references if you need one!
Satisfaction - offering young people a safe space to be themselves is crucial to their development, you will be helping to provide this need.
Training - you have the opportunity to take part in a variety of training courses.
Mondays 3-6pm and/or 6-8.30pm
Tuesdays 6.30-10pm
